Portable Appliance Testing

From April this year (2006) Wizzard Entertainments in association with PAT Professional is now

offering PAT testing for mobile DJ's and Venues. PAT testing (AKA Electrical safety checks) is a

mandatory requirement for holding a valid Public Liability Insurance policy.

These tests are to be carried out at routine intervals on all equipment which is fitted with a 3-pin mains plug.

Although to many PAT Testing is a relatively "new" concept, the requirement for electrical safety checks has existed

for quite some time and is referred to in several Health and Safety at Work related documents. It is also worth

knowing that more and more venues have now starting refusing to allow DJ's to place any of their equipment

inside without proof that they have had it tested. Obviously this can result in a loss of your income!

have the peace of mind that all work is carried out by competent trained technicians accredited to

C&G 2377-002 (In Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment) and

C&G 2381 (BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations: June 2001)

Equipment Register and the Test Certificates after testing.

Customers with whom we hold maintenance agreements are eligible for a 10% discount on Portable Appliance Testing.

Charges are regardless of pass or fail and do not include repairs to any items that fail. Return visits for re-testing will be subject to a £30 return charge plus £1.50 for each item re-tested. Removable power chords are classed and tested as separate items.

 

(PAT tests are carried out by appointment only.  Please note that unless you have arranged for us to control your equipment register, then it

is your responsibility to arrange for checks to be carried out and to inform us which items require testing.)
